SEO Checklist - Off page ranking factors

A short while ago I posted some on page ranking factors, mainly pointing at google’s ranking factors. As promised, this SEO checklist is related to off page factors such as linking etc.

Positive linking factors:
- Inbound text link the anchor you need to rank
- Inbound text links from good pagerank sites
- Listed in authority directories (DMOZ, Yahoo! etc.)
- Good neighbours (trusted sites such as Google, it never hurts to link back to them)
- Remember quality > quantity; If you’d have to choose between a link from MySpace’s homepage or 10,000 other backlinks, choose MySpace.

Bad linking factors:
- Too many external links
- Bad neighbours

Domain:
- General trust of a domain (Important!)
- Age
- Traffic of a domain. Many say that its not important, however in the Google Patent it is clearly mentioned that increasing traffic - good site.
- Keyword in domain name

This is all that comes to my mind at this moment! I will update this SEO Checklist as soon as I get more ideas.

AdEngage Review

AdEngage was founded in May 2004. AdEngage serves as the link between publishers who want to sell ad space on their websites and advertisers who want to purchase ads on these websites.

I tried to give them a try. In this AdEngage review, I am going to review it by my traditional reviewing template.

Payments

AdEngage accepts both credit card and PayPal. The fact that they accept PayPal made me want to join them.

Quality of service

Well there is nothing to talk about it here, it’s all automated. You buy the ad (flat rate or per click) and after publisher reviews it the link goes live.

Support

The support is top notch. I had a problem with an ad yesterday. I didn’t see the ad displayed so I emailed them using their contact form. I have received back a screen-shot with my ad showing, circled so I see and the support agent even told me that they will issue me a full refund if I’m not happy with the ad (even though half of the period my ad should be displayed passed).

Overall, I recommend using AdEngage. I have had NO problem with them.

WinAnonymous - Beware

Today I’ve had lots of trouble with a program called WinAnonymous. I accidentally opened Internet Explorer and it downloaded at my computer and started installing (later I figured out that I accidentally clicked the install button). I tried to stop this installation but I couldn’t until I closed the process.

It was too late, the program was already installed. Ads started to show up, internet was damn slow, CPU usage at 90%. Oh and that virus also removed all my anti-spyware softwares. Scary isn’t it? Well here is how I removed it:

-Downloaded a fresh new anti spyware software and using it I deleted this trojan

- Deleted the following registers values : O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinAnonymous] C:\Program Files\WinAnonymous\GDC.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ugdccw] “C:\PROGRA~1\WINANO~1\UGDCcw.exe” -start
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Salestart] “C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinAnonymous\mc.exe” dm=http://winanonymous.com ad=http://winanonymous.com sd=http://ilp.winanonymous.com

- Deleted the following files : GDC.exe, mc.exe, UGDCcw.exe

Be careful before installing something on your computer. It took me 1,5 hours to take care of this program.

SponsoredReviews.com Review

3 days I made a blog post which was payed via the blog post program, SponsoredReviews.

User panel

SponsoredReviews has a user-friendly control panel, which is very comfortable. The only thing I’d suggest them is adding a directory based on categories of advertisers (similar to CJ).

Support
I had a few problems with the blog, so I made a support ticket. In 12 hours, they replied and solved my problem. Their support is very efficient.

Payments
The amount I was paid was 16,25$. After it was verified (few hours) I have received the payment in my paypal account in less then 12 hours without even having to request it!

Fees

The only problem of SponsoredReviews is lack of advertisers. There isn’t much to choose from in this niche (webmaster/seo), however there are plenty gaming-related offers available. Also, the 35% fee seems VERY big. From 25$ earned, I got only 16.25$, which is almost 10$ difference! I’d recommend SponsoredReviews, if they read this article, to set the fee at 15%
